On Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at the Zappeion Hall, the presentation of the album of the Demetrios and Blanche Lambropoulou Charitable Foundation took place, titled: “Afoi Lambropoulou, 1901 – 1999 ‘Choosing Before You – For You'”
The Demetrios and Blanche Lambropoulou Charitable Foundation gathered in one volume the history of the store from 1901 to 1999, as well as the journey of its founders through testimonies, minutes of general meetings, newspaper clippings, and advertisements that show the changes and trends in the life of the Greeks. It vividly and usefully captures the history of a pioneering, prosperous business and a large family of merchants who left their indelible mark on the city.
The purpose of the album is not only to contribute to the study of entrepreneurship in Greece but also to promote sound business practices that create wealth in harmony with society, rather than at its expense.
Historian and author Eleni Beneki, during the presentation of the historical album, highlighted the vast reach of the Lambropoulou family’s ventures and the way their journey aligns with the history of the country.
